Can RecyclingBACK CAN RECYCLING As you are aware we at Ellon Rugby are hard at work fund raising. After much racking of brain cells we think we have found a way of raising money without asking anyone to dip into their pockets! For a while now we have all been carefully washing and squashing cans for the fortnightly recycling collection and then generously handing them over to Aberdeenshire Council so they can profit from our goodwill. We have found a contact via one of the rugby parents where we can exchange aluminium cans for hard cash to boost our funds by working in conjunction with CAN-DO in Peterhead.CAN-DO is a training centre for disabled and disadvantaged adults who have learning problems. They will share the profits made, giving two thirds of the money to us and keeping one third themselves. This equates to 50p / kilo of aluminium collected for the rugby funds. In order to encourage everyone to hand us their precious metal each week, we are running a free raffle draw between now and the end of the season. Each time you hand in one or more aluminium cans to our can collector on a Saturday morning at training before 10.15am you will be issued with a raffle ticket. You can still recycle your cans out with this time but will just get our thanks! The grand draw will take place on Presentation Day and the winner will be able to choose which Scotland home Six Nations match that they wish to attend next season. The collection point will be off the pitch, beside the gravel near to the steps leading up to the bar / social area. Remember the more times you hand over your cans the greater your chance of winning one of the mystery prizes! Aluminium cans will not stick to a magnet. Use the soft edging on the fridge door to check. It’s a weak magnet! OR Look for the alu recycling sign. 87This website was created using MAGIX Website Maker You will need the current version of Adobe Flash Player to view it.
